Omathle (“we”, “us”) operates the website omathle.com — a video chat platform where users solve maths problems together. Questions or data requests: praneel.agrawal@icloud.com

If you create an account:

• Email address and display name (from registration)
• ELO rating, wins and losses (game history)
• Account creation date

For all users (including guests):

• Anonymous usage data via Vercel Analytics (page views, no personal identifiers)
• Temporary session data during a game (socket ID, in-memory only — not stored)
• Guest ELO rating stored in your browser's local storage only

• To provide and personalise the service (your ELO, leaderboard position)
• To maintain your session while you are logged in
• To improve the site via anonymous analytics
• We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

We use the following services that may process your data:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication. Privacy policy
• Neon — database hosting. Privacy policy
• Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics. Privacy policy
• Metered — TURN servers that relay video/audio traffic. Video is encrypted end-to-end and not stored.

We use:

• __session — a secure, HTTP-only cookie used to keep you logged in. Expires after 5 days. This is strictly necessary for the service to function.
• localStorage — stores your guest ELO rating and cookie preferences in your browser. Never sent to our servers.

Vercel Analytics does not set cookies. It uses aggregated, anonymised signals with no persistent user tracking.

Video and audio during a game session is transmitted peer-to-peer between players using WebRTC. We do not record, store or process video or audio. In cases where a direct connection cannot be established, traffic is relayed through encrypted TURN servers and is never stored.

• Account data is kept until you delete your account
• Session cookies expire after 5 days
• Audit logs (moderation events) are retained for 90 days

Under UK GDPR and GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Object to processing

To exercise any of these rights, email praneel.agrawal@icloud.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Omathle is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, please contact us at praneel.agrawal@icloud.com and we will delete the account.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified on the site. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
